Unwashed and Unvaccinated

Full disclosure:  I’m one of the unwashed, unvaccinated people who, given the current climate, have been told I deserve to be unable to access healthcare or to food supplies. 

But hang on a minute … I think I do have a valid reason which might be accepted by others if they were in my situation.

I have multiple sclerosis and I’m taking a drug that is modifying my immune system. An Israeli study has concluded that having the vaccine is not recommended at all for patients taking this drug.  I believe that studies have also been conducted in Norway and Sweden that have reached the same conclusion. In this sense, it’s probably unfortunate that my vaccination invitation arrived at about the same time as I started taking the drug, Fingolamod arrived otherwise I could have had the vaccine before I started taking it.

I even went to the stage of booking my vaccine but that was about mid-August when there was a supply issue and I couldn’t get a booking until mid-October. By the time mid-October rocked around I was having blood tests that indicated my lymphocyte levels were extremely low.

I’m not an anti-vaxxer or a conspiracy theorist, but all of this pressure to get this vaccine (which hasn’t been widely tested on people in my situation) instinctively feels a bit wrong for me and being bullied and browbeaten into it is more likely to have the reverse effect.  Because I live in the South Island of New Zealand, where we have had zero community Covid cases since May 2020, I was foolish enough to think I could just jog along, keep myself to myself and since I work from home and live in a rural area I thought I could just see what eventuated. I can hear tongues clicking and eyes rolling as I write this but I need to remind myself that  I’m not writing this for the benefit of internet trolls.

On 07 October 2021 I awoke to the Newstalk ZB News.  The entire bulletin sounded so much like a fully-funded advertisement for the vaccine that I actually later recorded it as I think one day it might become a good indicator of the Orwellian type nightmare we’ve ended up in right now.  To quote:

• “The only thing we can be certain about is that if you’re not vaccinated you ARE going to get Covid”.
• “Covid is seeking out unvaccinated people and infecting them.”
• “There’s virtually no medical reason a person cannot have the Pfizer Covid vaccine, according to the NZ Immunisation Advisory Centre.
• People who are pregnant, immuno-compromised or have cancer should get a shot.
• Fewer than one hundred Kiwis are allergic to the vaccine’s ingredients. 
• Even those who reacted to their first dose should have a second jab.”
• Also check out this turnaround – the 12 August advice did seem to have some scientific evidence behind it but as far as I can see there was nothing between that and the 08 October directive, other than a desperate Government regime attempting to meet their KPI’s:

From a news bulletin on the same day:

Director general of health Dr Ashley Bloomfield has announced that the Ministry of Health has updated its vaccine advice and is now advising people have a three-week gap between doses, instead of six weeks, in a bid to get “more people fully vaccinated sooner, increasing our community immunity” to ensure further protection against threatening variants.

This varied from the advice given on 12 August when Bloomfield quoted studies which demonstrated an extended duration to six weeks between jabs contributed to at least an “equally robust immune response” and could reduce the likelihood of rare side effects, myocarditis (heart wall inflammation) and pericarditis (swelling of membrane around the heart).

OOookay – so what happened to the heart wall inflammation and the swelling of membranes around the heart? Kind of has a “need to meet the KPIs” feel to it in my mind.

I probably shouldn’t be surprised by this since Newstalk ZB is owned by NZME

Hardly surprising that NZME have joined this massive push to get the Pfizer vaccine but are we getting unbiased news?

Why would someone with a disturbed immune system want to deal with potential side effects, (which I could provide links to also for people with MS and other auto-immune diseases) and get a vaccine that is going to be completely ineffectual given that a recent blood test revealed that my lymphocyte count is very low which means it’s highly unlikely that I will develop any Covid antibodies at all? 

My situation evidently does not warrant a vaccine exemption (even though the vaccine is virtually useless to me) so might it just be to get the numbers up perhaps?

I seriously don’t think that the Covid vaccine is going to implant microchips or magnetize spoons so they balance on my nose or any weird shit like that but what does concern me is the censorship surrounding this vaccine and also the lack of immunity.  And by that I don’t mean the fact that you don’t necessarily have immunity from Covid even if you have the vaccine. 

What I mean is that the vaccine makers are immune from liability. 

“First established in 1986 with the National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act, and reinforced by the PREP Act, vaccine makers cannot be sued, even if they are shown to be negligent.

The covid-vaccine makers have been allowed to create a one-size-fits-all product, with no testing on sub-populations (i.e. people with specific health conditions), and yet they are unwilling to accept any responsibility for any adverse events or deaths their products cause.”

As Dragon’s Den would say:  And for those reasons, I’m out (at this point in time at least). Yes I could get the vaccine and proudly wave around a certificate that has no basis of truth in it whatsoever. I’d rather have it when it’s actually going mean something and be effectual and not just “for show” and to allow me to fly in a plane or go to a rock concert (which I’m hardly likely to do anyway). To me that is a much more honest thing to do.
