It’s the noise of a jet ski in the early morning dawn
A leaf blower whining at eight-thirty Sunday morn
Dog poo left in plastic bags. Cats that run away
Cruise ships in our harbour much to our dismay
Chlorine in the water. Chemtrails in the sky
Personal opinions, no-one seeing eye to eye
The cyclists on Dyers who are riding two abreast
Comments on our Facebook page vehemently expressed
Fireworks at midnight. No swimming in our bays
Too much contradiction and far too little praise
Forget about that bullshit and look at what we’ve got
‘Cos Diamond Harbour really is a magic little spot
We may not have the nightlife but still we have a bar
An NPD where we can buy some petrol for our car
A Four Square and a coffee cart. Awesome fish and chips
One of Banks Peninsula’s magnificent townships
Live music on a Sunday run by volunteers
Sit back and watch the talent and enjoy some crafty beers
Walk along the coastal track. Enjoy the boating scene
Climb up Mount Herbert if you’re feeling rather keen
But most of all appreciate community and friends
And living in a place that at the end of the day is pretty fricking awesome!

Well said Claire!!!
