It’s been a very strange day in Christchurch today with many people, like me feeling a bit shell-shocked and discombobulated. I feel as though I’ve fallen asleep and woken up in a place that is not my home. The outpouring of solidarity and unity with our Muslim community along with the show of global support has been really heart-warming and positive. I also felt very proud to have a leader like Jacinda Adern representing us to the world today. She has done extremely well in these difficult circumstances.
Tomorrow is another day and I’m sure we’ll all slowly return to normal but we will never forget the events of yesterday and a loss of innocence.
