MSD disability allowance New Zealand – the article in The Press
I was surprised — and slightly amused — to discover this morning that an opinion piece I wrote about the MSD disability allowance New Zealand had appeared in The Press. I had no advance notice, but someone from the Diamond Harbour Facebook page kindly posted a photo of it before I even knew it was in print.
The article, titled “The Grinding War of Attrition of Seeking a Disability Allowance,” explores my recent experiences navigating New Zealand’s welfare and tax systems while living with multiple sclerosis. It’s a story about paperwork, persistence, and the quiet endurance required to get support that should, in theory, be straightforward.
The staff I’ve dealt with at MSD have been patient and helpful, but the system itself feels designed to test stamina more than need. I suspect I’m far from alone in that.
