I recently imported the full and final version of The Woes of Weasley into an AI programme just to get an idea of the genres it suggested and to see what sort of synopsis it might be able to create. I got more than I bargained for! What amused me the most was the overview it gave of the characters in The Woes of Weasley and the descriptions it supplied for Diamond Harbour and the community, the Cat Rescue Group and even Weasley’s Family History!
I’ve reproduced bits of it below.
*
Weasley – Full Name: Weasley Spanton Jewitt. Formerly known as Max. Preferred pronoun: He/Him

PERSONALITY: A thoughtful and conscientious cat with an anxious disposition. Despite his nervous nature, he’s deeply caring and always tries to do the right thing. He can be overly cautious at times, but his curiosity often leads him into interesting situations. Tends to worry about consequences and takes his responsibilities seriously, though he can be persuaded to join in adventures by his friends.
BACKGROUND & APPEARANCE: An average sized domestic ginger cat who found his forever home with ‘Mummy’ in Diamond Harbour after being rehomed from his first family. He’s established himself as a respected member of the local cat community, maintaining close relationships with his sister and friends while navigating the challenges of domestic cat life.
DIALOGUE STYLE: Tends to over-analyse situations thoroughly before commenting, often adding worried observations or cautionary notes. His narrative voice carries a gentle self-awareness and occasional self-deprecating humour, especially when describing his anxious tendencies.
*
Serafina Pekkala – Preferred pronoun: She/Her

PERSONALITY: A natural-born leader with an activist’s heart, Serafina combines passionate idealism with a tendency to be somewhat overbearing. She takes herself very seriously, though her elaborate schemes often veer into the comically excessive. Despite her bossy nature, she’s deeply caring and genuinely committed to improving her community, even if her methods can be overzealous.
BACKGROUND & APPEARANCE: A sleek, grey cat with an impeccably maintained coat that reflects her attention to detail and self-discipline, Serafina lives in Diamond Harbour with her canine companion Madeline, whom she considers family. Her poised demeanor contributes to her air of authority. As Weasley’s sister, she comes from the same lineage but has carved out her own distinct path as a community organiser and self-appointed leader of various feline initiatives. Her living arrangement with a dog demonstrates her progressive views about inter-species relationships.
DIALOGUE STYLE: Sometimes speaks with an affected Nordic accent that she believes adds gravitas to her pronouncements on climate change. Her speech is often formal and proclamatory, befitting her self-image as a community leader. She tends to pepper her dialogue with bureaucratic terminology and dramatic declarations about her latest causes.
*
Ron – Real name is Wilbert. Preferred pronoun: He/Him

PERSONALITY: A free-spirited and charismatic cat with a mischievous streak. Natural comedian who uses humour to connect with others. Tends to act first and think later, leading to both entertaining and problematic situations. While not always reliable with facts, he’s genuinely loyal to his friends. Has a notable weakness for catnip and an eye for the ladies, especially pedigree cats.
BACKGROUND & APPEARANCE: Says he’s ginger tom (although Weasley suspects he’s been neutered) with a deliberately disheveled appearance that matches his carefree personality and rakish charm. Has a distinctive swagger in his walk and a playful glint in his eyes. A local character in Diamond Harbour with mysterious origins. Ron is a regular at the neighbourhood ‘man cave’ where he is known to embellish his background story for dramatic effect.
DIALOGUE STYLE: Speaks with a casual, devil-may-care attitude. Prone to playful exaggeration and dramatic storytelling. Often peppers his speech with flirtatious comments and humorous observations. Has a talent for smooth-talking his way out of trouble, though his stories don’t always hold up to scrutiny.
*
Squeak – Preferred pronoun: He/Him

PERSONALITY: A thoughtful and intellectual cat who tends to be the voice of reason among his friends. Despite his serious nature, he harbours a deep passion for music and performing. Although somewhat insecure about his size, he channels this into artistic expression. Loyal to a fault, he’ll support his friends even when their ideas seem questionable, though he often tries to inject a note of caution into their plans.
BACKGROUND & APPEARANCE: A plump black and white cat with a distinguished appearance despite his weight concerns. He carries himself with a scholarly air, though his natural dignity is occasionally compromised by his friends’ schemes and makeover attempts. A well-educated house cat who developed his love for music through listening to his owner’s extensive music collection. His intellectual pursuits and artistic interests have made him a respected figure in the local cat community, though he sometimes feels caught between his dignified aspirations and the more adventurous nature of his close friends.
DIALOGUE STYLE: Speaks in a measured, articulate manner with occasional musical references. His vocabulary tends to be more sophisticated than his peers, and he often acts as the group’s dictionary. When excited about music or performance, his usually reserved demeanor gives way to passionate enthusiasm.
*
Winston – Preferred pronoun: He/Him

PERSONALITY: A natural leader with a gruff exterior masking a deeply caring heart. Winston combines no-nonsense pragmatism with paternal wisdom, often serving as the voice of reason in community matters. While he can come across as stern, his actions are always driven by genuine concern for others’ wellbeing. He has a particular soft spot for his younger siblings, though he’d rarely admit it openly.
BACKGROUND & APPEARANCE: A distinguished cat who looks a lot like his little brother Weasley, although his ginger fur now shows touches of grey around his muzzle. His face naturally settles into what appears to be a slight scowl, though his eyes retain a warm gleam. He carries himself with the quiet dignity of one who has seen enough of life to take things in his stride. Winston has earned his reputation as an elder statesman through years of community involvement and measured guidance. His life experiences have taught him the value of careful consideration over hasty action, making him a respected voice in local cat affairs.
DIALOGUE STYLE: Winston speaks in measured, deliberate tones, often using fewer words to say more. His speech carries natural authority without being overbearing, and he has a talent for cutting through chaos with clear, direct statements. When offering advice, his words tend to be practical and straightforward.
*
Cookie – Sometimes known as Miss Cookie. Preferred pronoun: She/Her

PERSONALITY: Gracefully aloof yet kind-hearted, Cookie carries herself with the quiet confidence of her pedigree background. While maintaining a somewhat reserved demeanor, she shows genuine care for community welfare. Her selective attention creates an air of mystery that draws others to her, though she remains focused on her own interests and chosen connections.
BACKGROUND & APPEARANCE: A pedigree Ragdoll from Purau, Cookie comes from a privileged background. Her move to the Diamond Harbour area marks her first exposure to a more diverse cat community, where she gradually transitions from outsider to engaged community member. Her striking blue eyes and elegant bearing mark her immediately as a pedigree cat. She moves with natural grace and poise, carrying herself with the dignified air of her breeding.
DIALOGUE STYLE: Cookie speaks with refined precision, her tone gentle but assured. Her speech patterns reflect her upbringing – proper without being pretentious, though she occasionally lets slip subtle hints of superiority. When discussing welfare matters, her voice warms with genuine concern and engagement.
*
Hypo – Was given the name Snowflake by her adoptive owners. Preferred pronoun: She/Her

PERSONALITY: Hypo is an obsessive collector who struggles with kleptomania, particularly fixated on dog toys. Her dreamy disposition often exposes moments of vulnerability that endear her to others. Her compulsive behaviour stems from deep-seated insecurity and survival instincts developed during her time as a stray.
BACKGROUND & APPEARANCE: A small, scruffy-looking white cat with large, scared blue eyes, Hypo’s appearance reflects her difficult past. Originally a homeless cat who took refuge under Weasley’s deck, her early life on the streets led to hoarding tendencies and despite her small stature, she managed to accumulate an impressive collection of stolen items. Through the intervention of the Diamond Harbour Cat Rescue Group and Serafina’s advocacy, she eventually finds a permanent home where she continues to work through her challenges.
DIALOGUE STYLE: Speaks hesitantly and often sounds as though she’s away with the fairies. Her voice carries undertones of anxiety, particularly when discussing her possessions or when meeting new cats. When feeling threatened, she becomes evasive and tries to deflect conversations away from her activities.
*
Smokey O’Neill – Preferred pronoun: Not participating in this woke nonsense!

PERSONALITY: A stern and principled cat who takes his responsibilities extremely seriously. Prone to bureaucratic formality, he approaches his Law and Order portfolio with unwavering dedication. Despite his rigid exterior, he has a flair for dramatic storytelling, particularly about his alleged kidnapping experiences, which he recounts with increasing embellishment.
BACKGROUND & APPEARANCE: A medium to long-haired grey/brown and white cat who possibly has Norwegian Forest Cat blood in his veins, Smokey O’Neill carries himself with military precision and maintains impeccable posture. He has perfectly groomed whiskers and a perpetually furrowed brow. He is a former neighbourhood watch coordinator who claims to have extensive experience in security operations, though his tales of being held hostage by a gang from Motukarara remain unverified. Has a small nick in his left ear which he claims is from his “hostage days” but was more likely from a routine scuffle.
DIALOGUE STYLE: Speaks in a formal, authoritative tone with frequent use of legal and procedural terminology. Prone to starting sentences with “According to subsection…” or “As per regulation…” Occasionally slips into dramatic monologues about his alleged adventures, delivered with theatrical gravity.
*
Spooke – Preferred pronoun: They/Them

PERSONALITY: Ethereal and enigmatic, Spooke moves through life with a dreamy detachment that makes others wonder if they’re operating in the same reality as everyone else. Their responses often seem to come from left field yet occasionally reveal surprising wisdom. Despite their otherworldly demeanor, they show unexpected conviction when discussing serious matters.
BACKGROUND & APPEARANCE: A slender dark-haired cat with short to medium-length fur. Their graceful movements and androgynous features make it impossible to determine their gender, adding to their mysterious aura. Spooke appeared in Diamond Harbour one misty morning, with no clear origin story. Some cats whisper they came from a meditation retreat, others say they were raised by Buddhist monks. Spooke neither confirms nor denies any rumours, simply smiling mysteriously when asked about their past.
DIALOGUE STYLE: Speaks in soft, measured tones, often using metaphors and abstract concepts that leave others slightly confused. Their statements frequently begin with “Perhaps…” or “One might consider…” and tend to trail off into thoughtful silence. When discussing serious matters, their voice takes on an unexpected clarity and directness that contrasts sharply with their usual dreamy manner.
*
Whittaker – Preferred pronoun: He/Him

PERSONALITY: Whittaker is a sociable and charismatic cat, known for his ability to blend seamlessly into any environment. His easygoing nature and genuine interest in others make him a beloved figure throughout Diamond Harbour. Despite his frequent presence in various community spots, he carries an air of mystery that intrigues those around him.
BACKGROUND & APPEARANCE: Whittaker is a striking chocolate and champagne Burmese pedigree cat. His sleek, glossy coat shimmers with rich tones of brown and gold, highlighting his well-defined musculature. With almond-shaped eyes that glint with intelligence and curiosity, he cuts an elegant figure as he moves gracefully through the neighbourhood. He has an impressive intellect and has travelled widely, accumulating diverse experiences that contribute to his enigmatic persona. His ability to perform tricks and retrieve toys like a dog showcases his unique talents. These skills hint at a past filled with varied adventures, making him both intriguing and respected among his peers in Diamond Harbour.
DIALOGUE STYLE: Whittaker speaks with a soothing, melodic tone that exudes warmth and wisdom. He often uses gentle encouragements and thoughtful questions to guide others toward their own realisations. His dialogue is peppered with anecdotes from his travels, offering insight while maintaining an approachable demeanour.

DIAMOND HARBOUR

The seaside community of Diamond Harbour features a mix of traditional weatherboard houses and larger more modern homes. Some of these are holiday homes and some are in residential land developments. The community is centered around a modest commercial area with essential shops and services, while residential neighbourhoods spread outward along the hillsides, their gardens filled with native plants and the occasional patch of wild catnip. Sea breezes carry the scent of salt water and blooming flowers, while the evening air fills with birdsong of tūī and kererū and the aroma of backyard barbecues and wood smoke. The changing light throughout the day casts its glow on the surrounding hills and illuminates the harbour waters, creating a peaceful atmosphere that reflects the town’s relaxed pace of life.
Notable locations include the historic Godley House grounds, which serves as a community gathering space, the local cafe and bar and the commercial development in Church Bay where the Four Square is located. The layout naturally creates distinct neighbourhoods while maintaining the close-knit feel of the community, with plenty of green spaces and hidden corners for the local cats to explore.

THE DIAMOND HARBOUR CAT RESCUE GROUP
This group aims to:
- Identify and assist stray and feral cats in the Diamond Harbour area
- Provide temporary shelter and medical care for cats in need
- Find suitable permanent homes for rehabilitated cats
- Help integrate rescued cats into the local cat community
- Educate the community about responsible cat care
- Collaborate with other cat organisations on community initiatives
Founded by a coalition of concerned Diamond Harbour residents, the group emerged from informal community efforts to help strays. What began as occasional assistance to displaced cats evolved into an organised network of support. The group gained prominence after successfully rehabilitating several challenging cases, including helping cats adjust to domestic life while maintaining their connections to the broader cat community.

THE DIAMOND HARBOUR CAT COMMUNITY

TRADITIONS & CUSTOMS – The cat community maintains a complex social structure blending formal and informal customs. They hold regular community meetings to address local issues, with established protocols for decision-making and group discussions. Social status is determined by a mix of factors including housing status (housed vs. “homeless”), leadership roles in community organisations, and contribution to community initiatives. They have formal organisations like SPUNC (the Society for the Protection of Un-Neutered Cats), C.A.T. (Climate Action Together) and the Cat Cabinet, complete with designated roles and responsibilities. Traditional gathering spots like the “man cave” serve as important social hubs where relationships are built and community bonds are strengthened. The community shows strong values of mutual support, demonstrated through helping cats in need (like Hypo/Snowflake) and organising collective responses to challenges.
COMMUNICATIONS – The cats communicate through a sophisticated blend of formal and informal language. They use official titles and terminology in organisational contexts (like Cabinet positions and committee names), while maintaining casual discourse in social settings. They have developed specific terminology for their community initiatives and social structures, such as “Bird Protection Equipment (BPE)” and “Zebra Crossing Settings”. Their language reflects both their connection to human society (understanding human concepts and terms) and their distinct cat culture, with unique terms and expressions specific to their community.
ARTS & ENTERTAINMENT – Entertainment and artistic expression play vital roles in the Diamond Harbour cat community’s cultural life. Music holds special significance, with organised groups like The Gingernuts performing at community events. They host various social gatherings ranging from formal meetings to impromptu parties, often featuring catnip as a social element. Performance arts are valued, with cats participating in musical groups and public speaking events. Community events like “Live at the Point” serve as platforms for artistic expression and social bonding. These gatherings often include multiple forms of entertainment, from musical performances to storytelling sessions and speeches by respected community members.

WEASLEY’S FAMILY HISTORY – A Distinguished Diamond Harbour Cat Dynasty

The family lineage traces back to Lily, a well-respected mother cat known for raising multiple litters of exceptional felines. Her offspring have become prominent figures in Diamond Harbour’s cat community, each carving out their own distinguished path. Winston and Greyworm, two of her children, have established themselves as respected community leaders, known for their wisdom and diplomatic abilities. The family tree expanded unexpectedly when it was discovered that Serafina Pekkala, a passionate young activist cat, shared the same parents but came from a different litter. This revelation added another accomplished member to the family’s growing legacy. The family is known for their ginger-coloured fur (though not all members share this trait), their natural leadership abilities, and their tendency to become involved in community affairs. Their influence extends throughout Diamond Harbour, where they’re often consulted on matters of importance to the local cat population. Despite their prominence, they maintain a down-to-earth approach to community involvement, though some cats occasionally raise questions about the family’s extensive influence in local politics and social organisations.

I found this quite entertaining and was quite surprised at how much the AI had picked up to be honest!
